Meet Jordan Bett, PA at Digestive Disease Care Serving New York Community

Jordan Bett, PA, earned a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and graduated in August 2024. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Medical Studies, graduating Cum Laude in August 2023.

Pediatrics:
She gained clinical experience in pediatrics, conducting initial evaluations for both sick and well-child checks. Additionally, she performed routine vaccinations, tuberculosis PPD injections, and Strep and COVID swabs.

Family Medicine:
She gained experience in Family Medicine, conducting initial evaluations and workups for both new and existing patients. She also performed steroid injections and assisted in evaluating inmates’ chronic medical conditions within a prison setting.

OB-GYN:
She gained experience in OB-GYN, performing workups for new and existing patients in a gynecological office setting. She conducted PAP smears, bimanual exams, vaginal cultures, and breast exams, and assisted in-office procedures such as IUD insertions.

Emergency Medicine:
She gained experience in Emergency Medicine by assisting in the evaluation of acute patients in the emergency room and triage center. She interpreted laboratory data, x-ray films, CT scans, and EKGs, and performed various procedures, including suturing and stapling lacerations, inserting IVs, performing phlebotomy, inserting Foley catheters, performing rectal exams, and assisting in minor surgeries.

General Surgery:
She gained experience in General Surgery by conducting surgical admission histories and physical exams. She served as a first/second assistant in the operating room on various general and orthopedic surgical services, performed daily rounds and documentation for surgical patients, and executed procedures such as suturing and Foley catheter insertion.

Internal Medicine:
She gained experience in Internal Medicine by performing daily rounds and documentation for patients. She presented patient cases to providers during handoffs and conducted history and physical exams for incoming patients.

Plastic Surgery:
She acquired experience in Plastic Surgery as a first assistant in the operating room on various cosmetic procedures. She conducted follow-up visits in the office, addressed and changed surgical dressings, and executed procedures such as suturing, suture removal, and debridement.

Psychiatry:
She acquired experience in Psychiatry by performing initial evaluations for psychiatric patients in an emergency medicine environment. She assessed patient safety and determined if a referral was needed for outpatient psychiatric care.

She has diverse work experience across different fields, including pharmacy, childcare, and healthcare. Her roles have allowed her to develop strong interpersonal, organizational, and patient care skills.
